The unique aroma and nuanced flavour of the Peltolan Blue premium blue cheese are derived from the red clover that grows on our farm and is a key part of our cows’ diet. Thanks to the red clover, the Peltolan Blue premium blue cheese also has a higher concentration of Omega-3 fatty acids.

The Peltolan Blue premium blue cheese shares key characteristics with Roquefort cheese. Our cheese has a flavour that is mild, rich and sophisticated while the aroma is unique. The Peltolan Blue premium blue cheese is the perfect product for the cheese board, a part of a great combination with wine ,as well as an excellent ingredient in cooking.

We use traditional cheesemaking methods to make Peltolan Blue

All our cheese products are handcrafted at the Peltolan cheese factory. Our experienced artisans are skilled at all stages of the process, starting from the evaluation of the milk and how it should be crafted in order to guarantee a high quality final product. Cheesemaking requires experience and high levels of workmanship. It also necessitates constant monitoring – or to be more accurate, tender care by our artisans through every stage. We take it pride in our cheese being fully handcrafted, including cutting, mixing of salt, sampling and packaging. Quality control at every stage is important to use. Our cheese masters have sensitive tastebuds and they can tell with high precision when our blue cheese is fully ripened to guarantee a high quality final product.

The Peltolan Blue premium blue cheese is available at our own restaurant, Mikko, which shares the premises with the cheese factory. In addition, the Peltolan Blue premium blue cheese is available at well-stocked grocery stores as well as specialist retailers. Many of the top restaurants in Finland have our blue cheese as part of their menu.
